I03: Functional Modelling

The project "Functional Modelling" aims at simulating physiological effects in the human body. It delivers essential scientific findings, building the base for the design of a cognition-guided system. The project focuses on the development of numerical methods for the simulation of soft-tissue deformation and its sensitivity regarding specific target dimensions, based on applied forces or moments in the context of clinical applications. The methods developed are to be implemented in such a way that allows their real-time application on novel hardware platforms, such as manycore- or GPU-clusters.
