R01: Functional Diffusion-Weighted Imaging for Tissue Analysis

Diffusion-weighted, magnetic resonance imaging is a versatile imaging technique, which may yield surrogate markers that represent biological processes, such as tissue perfusion and cellularity, in a non-invasive fashion. In this project, novel diffusion imaging techniques and data evaluation methods will be developed. The techniques developed will be evaluated in terms of lesion differentiation, therapy monitoring and recurrence in patients with pancreatic and liver cancer.
